Romprest continues the snow removal action in sectors 1 and 5 of the capital

08 februarie 2012

According to the snow removal strategy both in District 1 and District 5 the snow is removed on main roads(circulated by transport vehicles) and on secondary roads where social objectives are located on: schools, hospitals, kindergartens, police and fire headquarters and other public institutions.
In District 1, in the snow removal action is organized by the 80 machines of Romprest Company; they continuously spread anti-skid material on primary and secondary arteries of District 1, collect and dump the snow in order to free the streets and to ensure a normal traffic in winter conditions.
In the snow removal action there are also present Romprest employees which remove the snow manually from intersections, urban transport stations, tram refugies, metro stations, entrances in public health units and in schools, and so on.

Last night the snow collection operation was conducted in the areas of District 1: in neighborhoods like Pajura, Aviaţiei; Str. Lascar Catargiu, Universitate (TNB), Bd. Nicolae Bălcescu, Bd. Magheru, Bd. Ion Mihalache, collecting over 1,100 cubic meters of snow.

In District 5, Romprest acts with at least 25 machines in order to uncover and collect the snow and to spread anti-skid material on the main roads of the district. Therefore, last night they collected about 200 cubic meters of snow out of the streets in neighborhoods like: Calea Rahovei, Ferentari, Sălaj, Calea 13 Septembrie, Panduri, Progresului, Antiaeriana, and so on.

Under the new weather forecasts issued by NMA (National Meteorological Administration), which announces that between 8 to 12 February in all regions will be frosty weather, especially during the nights and mornings, so that minimum temperatures will generally fall between minus 25 and minus 15 degrees on large areas and the daytime maximum will be negative.

Romprest will continue its job of removing snow in the two sectors, involving all relevant resources to combat icy roads and to ensure access on all streets, working 24 hours a day. Due to technical compliance and enforcement of all rules, but also due to the accelerated rhythm that Romprest imposed, the traffic is fluid today in both districts.
